Maybe it's because I have short fingers, but I initially found this piece difficult to close. Luckily, I was able to open it a little more with my ring openers and use some nylon pliers (instead of my stubby fingers) to fit the tiny segment in the ring. Once it's in, it looks great, but it may take some practice and patience!

Great ring and very shiny, but the most frustrating thing I've tried to put in (even with the help of jewelry pliers). Gave up and will probably need to have a piercer put it in at some point.

I got this to hold me over until the clickers came back in stock. I never ended up wearing it though, I couldn't get the segment out and the ring-opening pliers were also out of stock!

I had to use pliers to open this up, but otherwise there's been no problems. The pop-out segment is small and hard to keep hold of, I have to be really careful not to drop it down a drain or something.

this is a little fiddly to get the segment in and out, but it's really cute once it's in. I wear it in my inner conch piercing and it looks great.

I got this for my septum, and it fits, feels and looks great! I was afraid it would be hard to open / close in the piercing, but after few times I got the hang of it. My favourite and most comfortable septum piece!

These are *so* perfect for septum piercings! Let me recommend buying two if your shipping is expensive... it is very easy to lose the segment piece while trying to put it in. It can be fiddly at the small sizes! But once it's in, it's glorious! (That's what he said, BWAHAHHAA)

Such a nice segment ring, but I can't get the segment back in while it's in my septum to save my life! Will have to take it down to my favorite shop to have it put in and wear for an extended time.

I absolutely LOVE these rings! While you do have to get the hang of putting them in, it's totally worth it. They give my septum piercing a clean, continuous look more so than captives and curved barbells.

I purchased this segment ring to go in my wifes nose, its exactly the look she was wanting. I must warn you though if you have never used a segment ring, like i hadn't they are a little difficult to figure out i ended up haveing to get out my openers and adjust it and i have to use my closers to get the segment back in. This type of ring is not for someone who is new to piercings

It's a very nice ring, perfect size for my nostril, but I've always had a hard time putting cbr's and segment rings in my nose so it's a bit difficult. I may just go up to my tattoo shop and ask them to put it in for me. I always end up hurting my nose if I try to do it myself. but other than that it's a lovey ring very well made.

I love this ring. I've worn it continuously in my lip for years. 5/15" is perfect! the snugness keeps it from rubbing up against my teeth and gums. As well, I don't have any problem taking out the segment by hand, it just takes a little getting used to.

I've been wearing this for months now and I can say that for the 12 years I've had my septum pierced, this is by far the most comfortable piece of jewelry I've ever worn in it. I can't even tell I'm wearing it because it's so light.

I bought this ring for my septum when I realize how snug a 5/16" is. The size is perfect and the segment gives a seamless appearance. I can change it pretty easily with a pair of jewelry pliers. Very comfortable too

I love these rings. I have a double nostril piercing and have a 14g 3/8" and 16g 5/16". Being in my nose makes it extremely difficult to get the segment on because it is so tiny. I even went to my piercer and he had trouble getting it but once they were in they looked and felt great.

these are cute. i purchased a pair for one of the sets of my side lip piercings. they look nice and clean, and are quite comfortable. the seams are smooth, and i can spin the jewellery around without things catching or getting irritated. these work like a charm with opening pliers. they don't really seem like they are titanium, more like steel, but i don't have a problem with that. good shine to them. i'd purchase again. wish larger sizes came with a 3/8" diameter.

This has been my favorite product to wear in my septum. The ring is always symmetrical since there is no bead and the segment can pass through my nose with no discomfort. Easy enough to get in and out with a pair of ring opening pliers but it takes some practice.

This segment ring is perfect for my septum. I found 5/16" is bigger than I like for septum rings, but that's just me. I didn't have any problems popping the removeable section into place, once it's loosened the first time. You just have to be careful not to lose that part when you're taking the jewelry out.

Very cute! I wear this in my septum, and I think a smaller diameter would fit my face a bit better, but it's not offensively large or anything. It's nice to not have to worry about it slipping out when I shower and stuff, like I do with my pincher.

I will never understand why some people have so much trouble and others have so much ease. I am sure it is dependent on both the individual piece and the piece-r. For the life of me I still can't get the segment to snap back in place, even when out of body and simply holding it. Hopefully the proper tools may help, until then it looks like fantastic quality in my hand..

Perfect size for my septum! Can be a little of a pain to get the segment in and out if you need to change it, but with the right tools it isn't too bad. Since I wear this piece all the time I don't take it out unless I need to hide my piercing.

My upper cartilage piercing has been acting up lately, so I decided to treat it with some Ti and no captive ball to press up against it. The lack of a captive ball makes the diameter look really big to me, so if you normally wear a CBR you may want to go down a size in diameter for the same effect.
I did not have the difficulty getting the segment in place that others reported here. Took no more tries than a CBR would have, and I did it without a mirror. The thicker the gauge the more that would probably be an issue, but for a 16g it was very straight forward.

I didn't realize the diameter on these were so small. I had an old school pair from years ago and didn't wanna go with a larger diameter. I was reluctant on purchasing these because the 12mm didn't register with me. I was pleasantly surprise to see how small the diameter was on these. Great product!!! I think I shoulda got 6g's though because now I wanna go bigger but don't wanna buy another pair.

It works very well for a Prince Albert piercing I feel. As the one thing that was sometimes annoying with circular barbells, curved barbells, and captive beads rings is that they eventually get stopped by a ball. I love that with a segment ring it never stops so you don't have to worry to much about it getting stuck by a ball and possibly getting pulled/moved by clothing and making it uncomfortable. I give the titanium segment rinng a 5/5 and highly recommend it to anyone.

I thought I was going to be slick and prove the reviews wrong. With rings this small in my lip, though, snapping the segment back into place was a major effort. However, once I got them in, I'll admit that it was worth it! They're nearly seamless and fit very comfortably. I recommend these for those with patience and steady hands.

I previously had a segmented ring for my septum... this exact one actually... and I lost the segment part one night. SO, I got another one & it's REALLY hard to get the segment in and out. I might have to go to my piercer for help, but I'm sure one I get it in, I'll love it.

I bought this for my septum, and I love it! It's the perfect size, and no more worrying about my circular barbell being straight! I had a heck of a time getting the segment out at first... used a needle-nosed pliers to force it open and then spent a few minutes searching the bathroom floor for the tiny piece. ha. But once it was opened I carefully closed it bit by bit so the segment was only just secure. I definitely still need pliers to put that itty bitty segment in once the ring's in my nose, but it goes pretty easily now! Also, the titanium is a darker color than the stainless steel I have in my labret... still undecided if I want to exchange it for a steel one.

I liked the segment ring a lot, and I really liked the size of the diameter for my septum piercing, but the jewelry is too small for me to be able to put the segment back in. Unfortunately, I have an office job where I have to be able to hide my septum piercing, and going to a piercing studio twice a week to get this ring put in and removed isn't an option for me. Maybe later in life I can. So it seems that this was a waste of my money. First time I've ever said that on this website.

I love the segmented design. I wear the ring in my lip and love how comfortable it is to wear. The segment was a bit snug to get in and out at first but after trying it a couple times it became easier. I would recommend this ring to anyone who doesn't want to worry about losing their jewelry from playing with it. It always stays snugly in place.

This one is for my septum. I like the seamless look, and this does the job. I had to loosen it up just a tad bit with an opener so it would be easier to place the "bead." This is a much better alternative to seamless rings. Those are just a pain in the ass.

I purchased this ring 14g 5/16" for my septum. I was hoping for a small diameter ring I could wear everyday without an issue. This ring is everything I hoped and more. It took me a while to actually get the segment in after I used my opening pliers. But once you get the hang of inserting the segment, it is quite easy and very secure. I only wish they came in bigger gauges with tinier diameters.

I ordered 5 of the 3/8" rings for the second, third, and fourth holes in my right ear and second and third holes in my left ear. I love titanium because I have sensitive ears and it doesn't cause any problems. These little earrings are simple and elegant for these holes and appropriate for work. I need my husband to help because I can't get the segment in myself though.

Gauge purchased: 14g 5/16". I really want this to work but I just can't get the segment back in when it's in my septum. I usually have someone around to help me, but we still can't get it to work. I think I'll just stick to wearing pinchers in my septum.

I LOVE the 4 guage..they are not too heavy, however, you will need ring opening plyers to get the section in and out.
The 12 g - after going in and out a few times the segement now rattles...
Posted on 9/29/2008
Gauge purchased: 16. I purchased this in a 3/8", but it was too large for my labret. I'll probably try either a 5/16" or a 1/4". I recommend seeking out the help of your piercer - getting the segment back in is tricky, to say the least.
Posted on 6/30/2008
Gauge purchased: 16 ga. I love this piece, too bad I can't get it back together! I am making a trip to what will soon be my new piercer in a week or so, and I will see if they will put it in for me. Other than the difficulty, this is a perfect piece for those who want a ring in their nose without an ugly ball or an uncomfortable latch. Not to mention the high quality material!

i bought this for my septum because my ring usually spins a lot. getting the segment out was pretty easy but trying to put it back in while it was in my nose was kinda tricky. once i got the segment in it was great. it slides through real easily and looks great.

Gauge purchased: 16, Got this for my nose. This ring is awesome, super smooth, great quality but not super shiny.
I used my leatherman with some packing tape on the ends to grasp the segment part and the segment snaps in nice! I did it by myself but it's quicker when my husband does it because it is not easy to do in a mirror.

I bought one of these in 14g for my septum and I really like it its nice and smooth going in since there are no threads. Sometimes I wear it with the segment out for a little change. Honestly getting the segment piece in and out isn't to bad if you have a pair of ring opening pliers.

I ordered the 16g 3/8" ring for my tragus piercing. It's very pretty and shiny, and looked awesome in the piercing. It was also easy to open just with my fingers. My only complaint is that it was impossible for me to put the segment back in by myself. It was worth the money but it's a hassle to get your piercer to put it in for you.
Posted on 4/12/2008
Gauge purchased: 10g
These are very high quality rings, I love the segment design because they are very low profile and sleek looking with no ball and the seams are hardly noticeable when closed. I did need ring opening pliers to open the 10g. The high polish is nice and shiny and the titanium nice and light, awesome!

The ring is beautiful. It arrived in about two weeks, and I live in a small Canadian town. I ordered the ring for my lip and all though it is a little bigger than I thought it would be, it fits great and looks fantastic. the segment was a little hard to get in at first but I've gotten used to it. The segment never falls out and the titanium feels great in my lip. Thank you so much BAF, I love it.

sad thing is, i had to use pliers to get the segment out. and once it's in my septum, how the heck do i get the segment back in?

I bought a pair of 16g 3/8" of these segment rings for my dad and he loves them.
The only thing he didn't like was the fact that it's so hard to put the segment back in. I took him to my piercer and he helped him out.
Overall a great product and I plan on getting a pair for myself after I get my Venombites.

These are beautiful and shiny. I haven't been able to wear them yet since I don't have ring opening pliers and they are a little bit too hard to open by hand, but I'm looking forward to wearing them. The 1/2" is a nice size-I got them to wear in my 2nd lobe piercings, or maybe also in my conch piercings. Love how light weight they are too!
