Each piece has a 3/16" insertion gap

8g are about 2-1/2" tall
6g and 4g are about 2-5/8" tall
2g and 1g are about 2-3/4" tall
0g are about 3-1/8" tall

My boyfriend got me these for valentines day. Very good choice. I wear them a lot and they look great. The 6g is a little bigger than others I have, so it takes a bit of effort to get them in. Overall very nice though.
