I'm very glad I didn't get this in a smaller diameter, because as is the two ends of the hoop are quite close together, and they're pointy, too. It was almost too painful to get in and still keep the opening narrow enough for the ball to fit, but this piece comes with a spare ball that I think is slightly bigger, and that one fits while still keeping the ring comfortable enough to get in and out. The ball is loose, but it won't come free. Be careful if you have a wide septum! It is a beautiful piece and I love it, but the edges are very pointy!

A very attractive piece of jewelry for my conch. The additional length allows it to hang elegantly down my lobe, while the narrower diameter keeps it from looking over-sized. It has the appearance of a custom fitted piece. It's also more comfortable to sleep in than a standard captive ring.
