Internally threaded is top of the line body jewelry, but it is also more expensive. We recommend buying internally threaded jewelry. It's better for your piercing and is only made out of certified top quality materials. Professional externally threaded jewelry comes lathed down on the end which helps to reduce tearing when jewelry is inserted.

I actually found this length to be too long after the swelling stopped and had to order the 1/2" length. It's a great bar though, I now wear it occasionally when I have to clean the 1/2" length one.

I bought for my tongue because my mouth tends to get sore from the larger balls. Wearing this is so comfortable, it feels like I'm not wearing any jewelry at all. It took a few minutes to get used to speaking and eating with it, as I've gotten used to having large clunky barbells in, but this sits flush with my tongue. It was definitely worth the money and I highly recommend it to anyone with a larger gauge tongue.
