Internally threaded is top of the line body jewelry, but it is also more expensive. We recommend buying internally threaded jewelry. It's better for your piercing and is only made out of certified top quality materials. Professional externally threaded jewelry comes lathed down on the end which helps to reduce tearing when jewelry is inserted.

16g 5/16" Purple solid star
Totally dig the look of this. Only down fall is the star points are a little sharp and pokey. However, I'm probably more aware of it due to the fact that I tend to twirl mine with my tongue out of habit. Overall, it's a cute piece of jewelry.

I definitely recommend these for tragus piercings because they're FLAT. I constantly snagged the ball from circular barbells, and ball end labrets, which irritated my ear pretty bad. No problems with these at all. The color-coating is great too. I'm sensitive with nickel (any steel jewelry) and these were just fine.
