Lengths listed are measured along the straight part of the ring before it starts curving into the D shape. The length is also the part your piercing would "sit" in.

This is a great alternative to a lip ring if you have a labret piercing. I have a really high labret, not quite a lip piercing, so I can't wear a ring, and all the Lippy Loops are HUGE on me, even though I have pretty big lips.. This was a tad tight, and it hurts a bit to kiss or sleep in, but its really fun just to go out with for a few hours. If I had gotten a bigger one it would probably be no problem.
